29.03.2012 - easyRESCUE with US approval
The United States licencing authority FCC (Federal Communication Commission) has approved the easyRESCUE officially. This device is an AIS Search and Rescue Transmitter (AIS S.A.R.T.) developed by Weatherdock.
One important part of the FCC approval is that the easyRESCUE has passed test of the United States Coast Guard (USCG). Washington said: "We are satisfied that the Weatherdock easyRESCUE meets IEC 61097-14".
Beside the FCC / USCG approval the easyRESCUE does already have the German approval by the Federal Maritime and Hydrografic Agency (BSH) and also the SOLAS approval by the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea.
Especially this high approval level and the well done passing of all the heavy test conditions make the easyRESCUE globally unique as an AIS S.A.R.T. device in such a compact design.

23.02.2012 - MASERATI with easyRESCUE
easyRESCUE aboard the MASERATI during record-breaking
journey in the footsteps of Columbus
The team MASERATI of the Italian sailing legend Giovanni Soldini and his German navigator Boris Herrmann has set the first long-distance record across the Atlantic.
The 70 feet yacht MASERATI, which has been tuned especially for the record hunt, took exactly 10 days 23:09:02 for the route of 3,884 sea miles from Cádiz, Spain to San Salvador on the Bahamas. With this, they followed in Columbus' footsteps, who traveled the same route in 1492 - albeit at a substantially slower pace!
Aboard the MASERATI is an AIS S.A.R.T. "easyRESCUE" for each crew member. The small and compact emergency transmitter has three different release mechanisms. Next to the classic manual triggering there is an automatism, which is triggered upon full water contact; it is, however, not triggered by splashing water. The third trigger function is another atomatic release via magnetic switch with a rip cord. The device is attached to a pocket of the sailing suit. As soon as the bladders of the suit inflate in an emergency the rip cord blasts the magnetic switch away and hence the device activates itself.
Already at the previous Barcelona World Race, in which Boris Herrmann took part, all teams, participating in the non-stop-regatta around the world, were equipped with the easyRESCUE from Germany at Boris Herrmann's desire.
„Being the manufacturer we are delighted when such professionals like Herrmann and Soldini rely on our products, especially in extreme situations!" says Alfred Kotouczek, board spokesperson of the Weatherdock AG from Nuremberg.
We hope that the future record attempts of team MASERATI will be equally successful and that the emergency equipment will never have to be used.

22.02.2012 - RaceTRACK - Regatta & Race-management
RaceTRACK – perfect match for regatta and race-management
The RaceTRACK is a portable position transmitter. By means of VHF technologies it is totally independent of GSM networks. With the built in GPS module the RaceTRACK is able to transmit the current GPS position in a preset time interval. This position report happens on customized VHF frequencies, so a “closecd user group” may be arranged.
In combination with the receiver easyTRX2 running as base station, a lot of features are possible. The easyTRX2 is able to receive up to 2250 different object data and is back uping all the data transfer on a SD Card.
Participants of a regatta may be able to analize their curse and spped over ground or even mistakes done during the race. So they can compare themselves to all the other participants for the whole race.
By means of the optional race-management-software for promotors, every single position report data can be edited for the live audience to show the current cours of the participants. At the same time all these data can also be published into the www.
Officials are able to controll exactly if a waypoints is rounded in the right way or not.
For regatta a package is needed with one RaceTRACK for every object going to be monitored, and one receiver easyTRX2 working as base station. The receiving antenna should be mounted as high as possible to get the best performance.
Due to the small size and weight of the RaceTRACK the device can be mounted on the regatta boats easily.
In case of emergency the RAceTRACK has got an alert button. Pressing the button triggers a standarized recurring safety message receiveable by everyone within range.
The totally waterproof RaceTRACK has lots of world wide approvals and can be charged by his own charging station. Object-related data such as shipname can be programmed individually into the device.

On board: the “easyRESCUE” Nato version.
This version has got a double automatic activation. It activates
automatically by water contact, but also with a magnetic trigger.
Normally the easyRESCUE is assembled into the lifevest and it starts
automatically, after the lifevest blows up.
Boris and his team do rely on the easyRESCUE. You should do the same.
With the following link you'll find an article on www.segelreporter.com writen by Boris Herrmann himself. You can read his very personal opinion about the AIS S.A.R.T. transmitter.

11.11.2011 - Weatherdock at the Europort 2011
Dear
Customers,
during the
final day of the Europort exhibition 2011 in Rotterdam, we
can state a first positiveresume.
The exhibition
is an international meeting place for professional shipping, with all
its different areas. Our AIS S.A.R.T., “easyRESCUE” has found great
interest by the professionals.
There were
and are many high-quality discussions ongoing.
Just by
the fact that the easyRESCUE as AIS SART of this need size, has got, compared
to the competition, all international and national approvals and also the type
examination certificate as AIS-SART. The commercial navigation
is very aware about the international requirements and
approvals of the IMO or SOLAS.
The
easyRESCUE do met these approval requirements fully.
Responsible
persons of security companies and organizations (so
called “HSM” ... Health andSafety Managers) are excited
about this product and will shortly be carrying out extensive tests in
order to use it as soon as possible for all employees.
This is already done at the Germany Water Police and the German Waterway
Authorities.

team from the Port of Rotterdam

27.10.2011 - AIS CLASS B Transceivers
AIS CLASS B Transceivers of other competitors
Dear customers,
since some time some not reputable companies do appear in the internet and
several forums, offering Class B transceivers with 2 W and selectable 12W
output power.
The 2W transmitters are approved, normally (Not all are actually approved -.
You can check this in an easy way by demanding the "Type Examination
Number" from the BSH, which shows immediately whether an approval was
passed or not).
The 12W units are striclty not permitted.
The not reputable manufacturers do make a shore notice in which is stated, that
the 12W transmitters must be licensed and certified of the respective national
authorities. Finally with that the responsibility is transferred on you, the
customer.
We strongly want to point out, that according to our knowledge, worldwide no
authority will approve such a unit.
The purchase of such a device with 12W transmission power you should consider
maturely, because you`ll operate a non-approved radio.
Breaches of the national radio laws can be punished with dramatic fines, as you
probably know.
31.08.2011 - easyRESCUE reviewed by US Coast Guard
The easyRESCUE, our Automatic Identification System (AIS) Search and Rescue Transponder (S.A.R.T.) has been reviewed by the UNITED STATES COAST GUARD.
The USCG was satisfied and determined that the easyRESCUE AIS S.A.R.T. meets the IEC 61097-14 standard. The easyRESCUE is also fully approved by the BSH (Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie – the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency).
Safety first – for your health’s sake!

13.07.2011 - delayed delivery, but why?
Dear Customers,
Economical revival is proceeding in Germany. Especially on the technical supplier market, which is very important for us. German companies in this branch utilization of 100% capacity and the demand is growing. But on the other hand, this means a longer wait for customers of these products.
With natural disasters like the Japanese earthquake and the tsunami such a situation becomes even worse. As a result there is a component shortage, e.g. for quartz crystal, which is very important in high frequency technology.
Be assured that we are working with great effort to solve this problem. We hope for your understanding and apologize if you are among those who have to wait so long.
